Senior’s Luncheon @ St. John’s

This monthly lunch for seniors, run by St. John's, takes place on the 4th Thursday. Cost is $8/person and all seniors are welcome to join us.  29 Church Street, Cookstown.  If you would like to come for lunch please contact Diane Pettet at 705-458-2723 or

Cemetery Day @ St. Peter’s

June 10th is Cemetery Day at St. Peter's, beginning at 9am. The congregation will be lead to the Cemetery by a Piper as we gather to honour those family members buried there. There will be a luncheon following in the Parish hall. The service will be performed by Rev. Tom Lapp in Rev. Terry's absence. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Church Clean Up Day

Clean up day at St. Peter's is May 26th from 9am-1pm. (approx). Many hands make light work. If you can spare an hour or two, that would be great or even bring a willing friend to help out. It would be much appreciated. Trucks will likely be needed. If you have questions, please contact Myrlene at 705-456-6731.

St. John's Clean Up: Church Spring Cleaning: May dates to be announced! Pick-up Trucks Needed: If you're interested, please contact Jaci Bowen at joeypitbull@hotmail or 705-627-1354. If you also know of any students looking to get some community hours as part of their graduation requirements, this would be a good opportunity for that.

Soup Sunday

St. Peter's next Soup Sunday takes place on June 3rd after service. Everyone is welcome to join us. There will be a free will donation basket for those who wish to help support this outreach program, however, a donation is not necessary. Please stay and enjoy a hot bowl of soup w/bun, dessert, beverage and fellowship. We break for summer and will return in September. 

Update on Khalid and Omar

 Khalid and Omar are now living in an apartment in Barrie, nearer to work and the learning centre. We thank the committee for all their hard work toward making these two brothers feel comfortable and integrating them into their new life.     Our formal yearly general meeting will be after our Sunday Service, with a potluck luncheon.  The purpose of this meeting is for the leaders and volunteers of our church to report back to the congregation on the activities and finances of our church.  If you are a leader of a parish committee, please have your year-end report to Wendy Ground ASAP, to be included in our AGM report booklet.
